When my children were little it was more practical for me to work in mediums that were easier to pack up than oil paints. During this time I turned to mediums such as water colour and pastel. Today I will share with you some of my pastel drawings of Africa's big Cats. I found that pastels work really well for the fur.
I know these paintings Vanessa but funny enough, they are much nicer that what I remember. They look so real don't they?
ReplyDeleteThe pastels really do work well for the fur. I think what you do is so amazing to see something and then just draw it wow

Your art is amazing love your work!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I think it's like any hobby or passion, you feel the need to create, it's in your blood. I love drawing animals and people because they seem to come to life on the paper or canvas. And a photographer feels the need to capture a moment on film....or these days, on flash stick.
ReplyDeleteWhy have you been hiding these paintings of yours? I haven't seen them in ages. They're so beautiful they should be on display and not in a cupboard somewhere. Great work, a masterpiece each one.
ReplyDeleteSome day I hope to see these cats in their natural habitat. For now your lovely pastels will have to take their place.
